Rural Market

          From my early childhood to till today I notice a semi weekly market in my  native area.Rural people buy and sells their goods here.When I got my school education then I noticed the market held Every Wednesday and Saturday day in a week. The market is a single representative of rural economic system in our locality.
            My native market is known as Salikihat market. It has own history also. According to local people this market started before freedom. Nagas and  other communities people s also came here to buy and sell their goods.But now this market not so large only local people and some outsiders deal here.
       During the time of freedom movement a woman lived here.she was brave and she traveled to  many other distance market to buy and sell goods with the help of her own cart.people called her Saliki buri.now my local area and local market place is known as Salikihat and Salikihat market. Here also a building which is the representative of British Jail.My grand pa was freedom fighter. My ma saysBritish police arrested him and jailhim there.Here also a school before freedom. The name of the school is 11no.Salikihat nimna buniyadi bidhalaya.My education life also started from here.
       In my early childhood I only noticed sellers.Rural women comes here very rarely. In the eve of Bhag bihu,Magh bihu,kati bihu bihu bazar is held here that time rural women comes to buy their necessary things.But, in present time rural women comes regularly and they also starts their business. Here buy and sell s vegetables, colthes cocoon and sweet meat and fish, milk, dairy products ,banana,sugarcane, stationary goods etc.Maximum goods comes from rural farmers fields.
        I often visit such type of rural market to buy some kind of my necessary goods.Then I watch main  problems of rural market is the presents of middle man or middle   buyer  .Due to present of this type of buyer (later they become seller) rural seller gain very  less profit from their own products. Sometimes ,they  sells their products below average production cost.Because lack of money fund they always face with problems. This type of buyer buy the things from rural areas and sells the product at a very high rate in town  market.
Lack of proper guidline often misguide the rural farmers. Due to their imperfect production they lose their market popularity.
Lack of wear house and tuff terms and conditions of FCI also cause of rural producer lose and underdevelopment of rural weekly market.
Market imperfection is another reason of under development of rural.
Price variation or price  elasticity or price flexibility is also another reason of rural market imperfection.
High rate of tax collection another cause of under development of rural market. Recently, when I went to my native Rural market then I noticed the local tax collector demand a very high price from the rural sellers.without paying tax determined by that particular authority the rural seller does not allow to sells their goods under the market place. The middle buyer often get the advanced from it and they buy the goods from farmers houses. Then the middle buyers always give law prices so   the rural farmers always face with lose.
Some kind of facilities provided by government. They construct hall for rural market and other kinds of  facilities provided by government. But the total utility of govt.service could not consumed by rural sellers due to present of middle consumer.
Rural farmers are the rural sellers. But rural farmers always face with many problems. Their cultivation always depending on weather. Due to bad weather they always face with lose.
In my local area there is lack of integration facility. Lack of wear house facility. Traditional pattern of cultivation, lack of proper loan providers etc.
To improve the rural market condition we must wake up the awareness of rural sellers through many awareness program. Strongly and perfectly organise/construct the self-help groups.In rural market agricultural products are sold by preasent.If exhibition and  training are arranged by government N.G.O. and create competition among rural sellers then it also arising the awareness among the rural sellers.
These types of. Steps also help prevent the hurmful impact of poverty in rural areas.
Above lines I write on the basis of my own experience.I could not able to add date because I couldn't stud very closely about it due to my regular work. Barriers also with me because if I don't  attain my regular work then I couldn't able to earn my livelihood. But I always try to write about the problems surround by rural life.
